Well...

Its been fairly eventful. Lemme see...

I've been to Nottingham, which would have been nicer if it hadn't turned into a family meeting. Don't get me wrong they were lovely people, but I was expecting something a little more relaxed. I've been seriously feeling this housebound due to cash-flow problems, and I really needed to get out and see some life. I didn't. I saw family and the insides of various houses, cars, shops, pubs, coaches and a pool hall. Thrills. Highlights of the weekend were the artwork and the table, the big screen with the 80's classic videos on it and the dulcimer. I recently bought myself one on ebay. Eek! Oh well, I suppose that's what credit cards are for...

Anyway, got home just in time for rehearsal (oh yeah, we have a bass player!!) which wasn't bad. We recorded it and its obvious that I need to turn my mike up and stop pushing my voice. Its nice that we're all sorting out our problems one by one and we're moving ever closer to gigging! :-)

Have had quite a lot of company from my guitarist recently, which has been nice. He's not 100% recently due mainly to all the shit he's had to put up with recently. One of our dear friends turned out to be a jealous wifebeating scumbag and Stef has had to move off the island. He's in Hackney now and will hopefully be coming up to Cambridge as soon as his boat is worthy of the distance it will have to travel. We've written a lot of stuff though, which has at least been some sort of positive outcome.

Last Monday evening we were minding our own business when my doorbell rang. I went down to answer it in my dressing gown, hair all over the place, not expecting anyone. Standing at the outer door was a radom American, who proceeded to say, 'hi,' he looked at me, 'uh, I may be in the wrong place, I was told there was a massage parlour somewhere here?'
'No.'
'Oh right OK.'
I shut the door and returned to the flat totally stunned... Well, wouldn't you be?!

In other news, I'm planning a cycle ride to Stonehenge. yes, the cabin fever has got to me that much! I'm hoping to do it in about 10-14 days over my easter holiday. Since that's early this year, it means I've got until the last week in March to get into shape! I'm hoping to do it for charity, although it depends on who gets back to me first as to who that will be. One environmental group or another. This is just the training of course, I'll be doing it again for the Summer Solstice...

I went out on my first exercise today (having got my bike fixed after its long period of inactivity in the car port.) Erik and I cycled to Wandlebury hill fort, which was wonderful. the views were breathtaking as the sun lit up the whole of Cambridge through the clouds. I was reminded of just how lucky I am to live here... Anyway, we wandered around the site and completely failed to see the GogMagog excavations. Never mind, I'm going to Stonehenge via Avebury, so there'll be plenty of things to see along the route, white horses and the like! :-) I was knackered though! :-( I hadn't realised just how out of shape I've become. From now on I'm going to eat when I'm hungry and train every day, drink shedloads of water and stop going to the pub so much!

I think that brings me about up to date. I had a job interview but I'm still waiting for the yay/nay from it so *fingers crossed*...
