Gigigigigigigig!!
Mar. 19th, 2003 05:54 pmWell, actually we were ropey as all hell. Under-rehearsed, unready, and in too small a space. That said, we carried it off, had an encore and lots of happy people at the end, including one biker who insisted I sign his copies of our demo...!
We started the set with a version of 51st State - and I'm adamant now that Stef was playing the wrong chords. However I ghosted over the back of his playing/singing, and we got through it. We both forgot the words to Moonfriend (how embarassing) and could have done a better version of Sumfin.
The rest of the band came on, and, despite a really badly tuned bass, they made the sound a lot better. By the end we were steaming in style and thoroughly enjoying ourselves. I wore the dress I last wore at the Man on the Moon gig, the one that's really too big for me, and subsequently spent most of the night teasing people with it, 'will the top slip down, will we see the bra...?' ;-)
Either way, we finished with Silly Thing, which went down so well we had to come back on and do D'You Believe. CDs went like hot cakes, and we made a whole £1:80... Hmm, still it all goes in the book.
Came home and decided not to go to the party up the road, and so fell, exhausted, into bed.
Biggest thanx go to Subsist and Miss Daisy for support, Erik and Jamie for the sound desk (we'll make a sound engineer out of you yet my dear! ;-) ) and the Sudbury and Bury crews for coming down to see us. :-)
