PMT Positive...?
Jan. 28th, 2003 11:55 amI think I may have finally discovered what PMT is for. In the same way that for years and years I used aqueous moisturiser as, well, moisturiser - despite having been told it makes a mean soap-replacement - now I use it as, you guessed it, a soap replacement (too.) Well, years and years ago I was told that the time around your period is in fact when you are at your most 'powerful' and creative; I didn't believe it, as its always been when I've felt my most shitty and low. But yesterday I:
Sewed new buttons on two coats I'd been planning to do for ages.
Put a tag on the zip to my white (soon to be purple) combats so that it didn't keep falling down.
Made a top out of a pair of tights.
Made a necklace out of bits of chain for Erik.
Wanted to make banners but didn't have the space...
And it got me thinking. Both 'Crossing the Boundaries' and 'Nameless' were written during PMT weeks, and I also found myself writing new lyrics on Sunday to a song I hadn't been able to write before.
So maybe there's more to it than just feeling crap and scaring the hell out of the citizens of Cambridge. Maybe it is useful after all...
