Nov. 27th, 2002 09:25 pmIts been a loooong day... AM was manic, I didn't even get a chance to do any proper work let alone sit down with the Jobfinder. Then everyone left, and I waited to be relieved for lunch by Nicky. At 1:15 I message her to ask where she is. The reply, 'I'm not feeling too good.'
Which is fair enough, but I could have done with some sort of prior warning so I could make other arrangements. As is, I went nextdoor to get a sandwich, to fid they had no bread left and I had to choose from what they had in the counter, instead of having something made up. The afternoon was almost as bad as the morning, and because I was running the shop for Kay's day off, it went on forever too.
She left the heaters on and only locked the top lock on the front door the night before. Way to go in the middle of a fire strike with people living upstairs...
Pub then home, to the second best bit of news I've had all day (the first being Erik-related and soppy, so I won't go there! ;-).) Russel Res just sent me my deposit back. The whole thing!! :-) So I will at least have something to see me through Christmas/New Year - although things will still be tight, as I intend to leave my job the week before Christmas. Oh yeah, they kow I'm going, and are already advertising my position in the local paper. At 15p per hour more than I'm getting. OK, its not much, but over a year that's more than £250, and they had originally said to me they couldn't give me a payrise when I asked for one...
*Sigh* life is complicated ATM. Still, we have flights to Dublin booked for January, so hopefully we can take a few days out to have a holiday. I need it so badly...
