So, let me see:

I don't have an audition with WSL anymore, mainly due to the distance between me and them. It was a mutual decision and though I am disappointed I think it's probably for the best.

On the F.U. front, I'm becoming less and less convinced that this is the band for me. We occasionally play the most amazing stuff, but these little jams never seem to become and more than just that, a jam. If we do come back to it, the song turns into something completely different. "We're supposed to be a metal band?!" was Ben's incredulous response when I mentioned this last night. James doesn't want to be in a metal band and I'm not really sure what Rishi wants us to be. It's great practice for my voice and we do have occasional strokes of genius, but I just don't like the direction we're going in. They're not interested in building a coherent image for our show, "just in case we're crap". I mean, what sort of attitude is that?

Work is stressful (says she, LJ-ing!) as we have a whole load of the next round of HLS applications to push through the first stage by the 10th. We haven't been given much guidance as to how they want to do it this time, and there are several technical issues that need to be fixed or at least have work-arounds put in place yesterday. Are there any...?

I don't have enough hours in the day at the moment, and we need to get diesel for Hela, get water and pump-out and go to a party this weekend. I might have to come into work on Saturday too...

Next weekend is also going to be tight as I'm having to re-arrange a rehearsal, pack a van and help my best friend celebrate her 25th birthday before I leave the country. More on this below...

On the good side, my voice is improving, if slowly. Not working with WSL will give me more free time to be with Erik, which can only be good. I'm going to visit Tish and Oli tonight, have a nice long hot shower and be fed, as well as hopefully seeing Oliver, which will be lovely. :-)

The main amazing thing that will be happening is my leaving the country. It's only for 3 days, but Keir needs someone to look after his cats (in a cage) and navigate while he drives all his (and S's) worldly belongings to Finland. I'll be that co-pilot. :-) I can't express how much I'm looking forward to this - I've been wanting to road trip on the continent for ages, and this would be the perfect trial run. The journey will be hard and long, we'll be awake for long perods of time, but it will be so, so amazing. :-) I only wish the hire company would let me drive the van so I can get some direct experience in. I also wish Erik could come with us but there's not going to be enough room for three people and he's started a new job recently so I don't think they'll be too impressed with him suddenly disappearing for three days. I'll be flying back on the Wednesday night, be in work on Thursday, and then the F.U. debut gig will be that evening at the Man on the Moon. I expect you to be there, at least to make it worth my continuing in the band for now...

Talking of bands, I asked a week or so ago if anyone had any mp3s of Skelliga that they could email me. I haven't received any yet. It's not a big deal, but it would really help if you could. Thanks!

That's it for now, there will be a specifically targetted update momentarily. Tish and Keir, that one's for you!
