Damnitt...
Oct. 19th, 2003 10:38 amEleven years ago I was given the Earth's Children series of books to read. They were my sex education (thanx Les) but most of all they were the best books I had ever read, so full of depth, beauty, description of a world locked in the last ice age. Up through the years I remembered the characters and their adventures, of all the books I've ever read, I remembered the most from these.
Then, recently, I chanced upon a copy of 'The Shelters of Stone' (the newest book and one I haven't read) in a charity shop. Gods only know what the previous owner was doing sending it there, they were obviously either mad or just too prudish. Anyway, I rescued it, brought it home, and determined to get my own copies of these magnificent books. Last Sunday I got a copy of 'The Clan Of The Cave Bear' (the first book) from a bookshop. I just finished reading it last night, cover to cover, much of the overall storyline still singing through my veins after all these years. I'm desperate to start reading the next book, 'The Valley Of Horses'. Why oh why didn't I just get the whole series at once?!
