Erik has had both his feet cast in green and purple fibreglass. I kid you not, they look very cool and kinda 'Thyb3r' in a 'W00t' sort of way. Or something... Anyway, he's up and about finally - they haven't given him a brace for his back, but it's apparently not nearly as painful as his heels anyway, so he doesn't really need one. He's finally able to get out for a cigarette! Even if it is in a wheelchair.
He's asked me once again to thank everyone who's visited/sent cards/asked how he's getting on. He also wants to know why his cousin hasn't visited like he said he would... Keir??
Erik hopes to be home by tomorrow or Friday at the latest. This is a Good Thing. It's one thing wanting a little bit of space, quite another when you have to spend all that time alone in the double bed you usually share (no I didn't bloody push him!!) ;-) I also look forward to not having to cycle 3 miles across town, walk up umpteen flights of stairs, then do the same back in the reverse order, every night. Whew, that was a sentence and a half.
My own news goes something like this:
Pineapple rice - good
Mouldy raspberry - bad
Avocado boat - so-so
Feeling sick all day - bad (I think there's something in both avocado and aloe vera that I may be allergic to. Certainly it seems to play havoc with my guts...)
Not being able to dice pumpkin - bad
Roasting afore-mentioned pumpkin - good (nummy, in fact!)
Roast courgettes - so-so (absorbed too much oil I think...)
Roast avocado - bad
Stir-fried bean-mix - good
Stir-fried tofu - bad (incredibly bland, even with the added spices.)
Stir-fried peppercorns - good (in fact, peppercorns, cooked by whatever method, are bloody lovely!)
Feeling full - good
Feeling fat - bad
Can you tell I've been experimenting in the kitchen again??
