Well, its week 2. So guess what I foolishly did yesterday? Cycled nearly 40 miles to Stortford from Cambridge. For only the second time ever and far too early for that sort of long distance but I wanted to prove to myself I could still do it. I made it anyway, in _3_hours_!!! So the journey to Stonehenge should be much easier as I'll go a lot slower and have longer breaks.
I felt fine the next day until Luce called me. She was in Harlow hospital with another lung problem, so I got on the bike and cycled down there (via the train this time of course!) Just that little bit of exercise made me realise what I'd done to myself! Anyway, Luce had a leak of air from her lung into the pleural cavity, so they wanted to do an aspiration. But she hates hospitals, so they eventually just kept her in for another X-ray and (hopefully) sent her home. I left before that point though as I had to get home for The Calling.
Made up some alcohol, had something to eat and headed for Erik's. It was raining so I got a taxi and chatted to the driver for a while. He does Paragliding and takes people in tandem. We got talking about it and all sorts of other things and I now have his number and am going paragliding with him! :-) got to Erik's, put our make-up on (we went New Romantic this week) and headed for the club. The stalker was there and I felt like I was being observed, every time I went up to dance, so did she... there were some fantastic songs played and we danced loads. Then someone (Emma?) put on Vagabonds by New Model Army and that was it, I was gone!! We stomped on the dance floor, ceilidh-ing our hearts out to the song, I felt amazing, totally euphoric. The feeling stayed with me the rest of the night, the weather was amazing too, wind and rain. Erik's top room is wonderful for hearing the storm outside. We got home and I suddenly realised what I had done to my legs by dancing on them after the cycle ride! I was totally exausted and still high but so tired, the minute I lay down I was practically asleep.
On the way home this morning I met a boata busking with a tin whistle. He lives on Stourbridge Common, which is where the boys will be going to live when they come up here. had tea with him and chatted about everything, hopefully I'll be seeing him quite a lot, and he might be able to do some music for us (I offered to work with him and he sounded quite enthusiastic.)
Got phtos developed (great ones of various Goths! ;-) ) and came home, getting a free ride on the bus in the process.
I love the World!! ;-)
