Help?

I'm trying to write email and LJ comments, and the 'puta I'm on seems to only be able to see short entries. Its running RedHat Linux and a Ximian desktop. It keeps coming up with the message 'The document contains no data' when I hit send/post etc.

Don't ask, just please tell me in detail how to fix it...
