Thanx to everyone who offered their sympathies about my bike being stolen. I have a day off today, so I'm going to go around all the second-hand bike dealers and pawn shops in Cambridge with details of the bike, and ask them to keep an eye out. All those of you in Cambridge, or if you're visiting in the next few days, could I ask you to do the same...?
Description is as follows.

Dawes Sterling Tourer 1997
Colour: Cherry red
Frame size: 49" (I think)
Wheel size: 26" (I think)
Frame Number/s (I have two): 283604 and 9501841
Security code: 35CA0322
Appearance: Drop-handlebar (like a racer) with black strapping. There is black gaffer tape holding the strapping on the left handlebar. The brakes are mounted on the front of the handlebars so that they can be reached from both the normal riding position, and if the rider is upright with their hands on top of the handlebars. The brake handles are black rubber coated with silver levers.
The bike is long and low to the ground. It has a halogen dynamo (brand new) with round lights both front (larger) and back (smaller.) The back light is mounted to the pannier rack, which is black coated and rusting in several places where the coating has been knocked off.
There are both front and back mudguards which are silver plastic. The rear one has recently had its struts welded back to it, on of which has come away again.
The bike has 21 gears, 3 in front, 7 in back. The gearing is deraillieur (sp?) and the silver metal levers are mounted on the 'down tube' - ie the bottom part of the frame.
The bike is burgundy with several 'Dawes' marks on it in gold, one of which says 'Stirling'. It also has a 1997 Olympics sticker on the stem (I think its there...)
The saddle is a black 'Vetta' with a small tear in it at the back. The gear protector is clear plastic (obviously a little old and stained now!) The gears themselves are black and have been recently oiled.
The whole bike has recently been cleaned (by the very kind man who serviced it for me...)
She also has a brand new back tyre with its Michelin stickers stil present... The tyres are road ones - not as thick as mountain ones, not as thin as racing ones...

That's all I can remember for now, if I think of anything else, I'll put it up. Could those of you in Cambridge just keep an eye out for me please? Even if it just means taking a second glance at every bike that goes past you or that you may pass on the street. There aren't very many bikes out there with racing handlebars, much less ladies ones in burgundy... ;-\
Thank-you.
