Weekend

Was utterly lovely, even if I didn't make the protest in London. Erik's Mum and her b/f came down after finishing a holiday in Norfolk, stayed over Friday night and hung out with us for a bit on Saturday before going back home again. We went for lovely pizza on Friday night, then got bacon and brie baguettes, and champagne (with orange juice) and strawberries for brekkie as it was Sarah's birthday! The weather was glorious again, and Erik and I spent Saturday afternoon at the Fort St. George next to the river on Midsummer Common. The place smells of incence, and does (what looks like) very good food. Must go there again to find out... I then went home for dinner (had to finish the stew) and to get ready for the evening.

Met Erik in the King Street Run and sat drinking/chatting etc with people. Got the Rome Burns CD thanx Nev. :-) We had originally planned to go to Bedazzled at the Junction, but since I'd been drinking all day I was feeling a little the worse for wear, so we came home. I'll be at the next one though, as I'll have fliers to distribute...

Sunday we woke up slowly in style. :-) Spent a good portion of the day on my computer making fliers (Jason, I'll mail you some soon if that's OK) and listening to cheesy 80s hair metal! Looked through my drawers for more clothes to Ebay (I'll let you all know when I'm getting rid of them) and then went to The Boat Race for the blues jam, which is mandatory entertainment for a Sunday for Erik, and for me when I have no rehearsal. Sat thinking for a while about whether to go up and do anything, before being dragged up by my drummer who was also there. Did a fair rendition of 'Sweet Child of Mine' (blame the earlier hair metal...) and got cheered! Rar!

Later went back to the Run for a bit, Erik got distracted by VVVVVVVVVRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!! for a bit. Came home and got lots of photos taken for drawing purposes. *Grin*

Now up for work again... :-\ Mayhem are looking for staff, I think I'm going to go for it. I've been wanting to work in an 'Alternative' shop for a while, so this may be just what the doctor ordered. Not that I'm holding my breath, but...

I'm also on another (pre-Whitby) detox - nowt but pineapple and banana (and two litres of spring water) for me today. Still, after the weekend's excesses I could do with one, and I'm looking forward to being able to eat whatever I like at Whitby... ;-)

My head is spinning...

Why do I do this to myself...?
Roll on 8pm, then I can have the bananas...
I have had a pineapple today, and just over a litre of water, as well as two cups of peppermint tea. Work was stressful on and off today, not as bad as it has been before, but by no means peaceful. I just don't get why people are so rude - why they get so angry so quickly and why they (practically) attack us for it... Very sad to see otherwise intellignet members of the human race reduce themsleves to that, we have dons and all sorts renting cars and exploding when we say 'no' to one thing or another. Its as if they're just not used to having someone refuse them something...

Anyway, I've updated my CV, and attached a pic. I'm going to go for the job at Mayhem and see what happens, I can always turn it down if it turns out to pay less than I can afford. I'd just like a job without so much stress and so many unpleasant people about, somewhere I ca just relax and enjoy myself. I just don't fancy spending a good chunk of my day in a place I hate with people I don't have anything in common with, this is my _life_ that's being wasted here...

The world is still crazy, I guess it puts everyday 'western' problems into perspective a little when you think about the devastation being wreaked elsewhere on this very same planet. Some of my friends are down today for various reasons, I'd like to take this opportunity to offer them all great big *HUGS*. You guys know who you are. :-)

I have some lovely photos of me on the computer (not for public consumption mind... ;-) ) and am hoping to get some of the stuff I'm Ebay-ing soon, so that I can hopefully make a little cash before Whitby. Stef will be over in a bit to practice the song we're supposed to be doing for the wedding on saturday (yep, another of his relatives is getting married!) I guess I'd better go over it again. I have to say, its definitely _not_ the best song Def Leppard ever did...
